Gameplay & Rules
ATF Mahjongg is a refined Western International variant using a 148-tile set (108 suit tiles, 28 honors, 8 flowers/seasons, and 4 wild jokers). To win, a player completes 4 sets (Pungs/Kongs) + 1 Pair that satisfies a minimum of 3 doubles and 100 points. Unlike American Mahjong, hands never expire annually, so your tactical knowledge lasts forever.
In American Mahjong, players purchase a new printed card each April and must match exact arbitrary combinations. In ATF Mahjongg, hands belong to four timeless mathematical families (Clean/Pure Suits, All-Pungs, Honors/Terminals, and Special patterns). You never need to discard your strategy book each year, and scorekeeping is powered by our digital companion app.
Weekly Social Clinics
Absolutely! The vast majority of our clinic attendees join solo. When you arrive, our dedicated clinic facilitator welcomes you, introduces you to fellow players, and seats you at a balanced 4-person table suited to your experience level.
If you cancel your reservation through the ATF Café app at least 12 hours prior to clinic start time, 100% of your participation fee is credited back into your ATF app wallet for use toward any future session. Cancellations made less than 12 hours in advance cannot be credited due to reserved table arrangements.
Membership & Value
ATF Club annual members play at preferential clinic rates (regular guests pay a 60% surcharge, giving members a ~37.5% saving per session), receive unlimited free Custom Room hosting for companion scoring ($3 per pass savings), priority table reservation access, and global play privileges across all active hubs.
Custom Rooms allow you to host private tabletop games with automatic scorekeeping for 1 to 20 tables. The app calculates doubles, updates player totals in real time, and maintains live room leaderboards. Annual members host for free; non-members can create rooms with a $3 4-Hour Instant Access pass. Participating seated players join for free!
Facilitators & Manuals
Prospective facilitators complete a dedicated 2-Hour Zoom Masterclass with Founder & CEO Supriya Sharma ($50 onboarding fee). The session covers clinic hosting, table rotation timing, app scoring management, and hospitality for solo players. Upon completion, hosts are authorized to lead weekly clinics in their community.
